I found quite a few pieces of information pertaining to my grandfather's military service. I obtained the following documents:

Application for Servicemen's Readjustment Allowance
Certificate of Honorable Discharge
Enlisted Record and Report of Separation
Order to Report for Induction
I discovered my grandfather Fred Lorenz Harmon served as a Sergeant in the Army from Feb.22, 1943 to Dec.18, 1945. He served with the 1252nd AAF Base Unit and his military specialty was radio mechanic.
